PCount offers you the opportunity to track the number of people who enter your store. That’s a valuable piece of information–but why? Retail performance benchmarking allows you to determine just how your store is really performing in a variety of ways. For example:
Comparing sales data to the number of people entering your store can tell you what percentage of shoppers are actually buying–and how much they’re spending. This will give you a good idea of where you might need to boost some of your sales efforts. Have a high number of people entering, but few purchases? You might need to boost your sales promotions, improve your customer service, or change your current displays.
It will tell you how your marketing is working. Experience an increase in the number of people entering your store in the days following a marketing campaign? That will tell you that the marketing is working. On the other hand, if there’s little or no change in those numbers, it’s a good sign that your marketing could have been better directed. Remember to give the new campaign a few days to work, but if it still isn’t showing sales improvement soon, it might be time to rethink your plan.
It will show you how well in-store promotions are working. Are you successfully drawing people through your doors with your in-store promotions? Keeping an eye on the number of people coming into the store will tell you whether or not your in-store promotions are successful. Comparing that with sales data will also let you know how successful those promotions are at bringing in customers who are actually interested in your product, and not just the current promotion.
