Retail is a harshly competitive market and there are many projections done to find out just how much revenue will be earned for the year. Sometimes the projections are spot on, and other times they fail miserably. Where do the projections stand for 2018? Well, we will look at the expectations and the current reality.
Retail in 2018: Expectations and Reality:
The expectations for the retail industry in 2018 are positive; all of the revenue is projected to come from two generations of people. These two generations couldn’t be more different from each other, but they are where the money is coming from.
In addition to the generations being different from one another, they also have customer service professionals aiming to please them the most. These generations are referred to as the baby boomers and the millennial. The baby boomers are getting older so everything is being made easier for them to shop; and the millennial are looking for fast pasted everything so customer service professionals are speeding up their assistance and everything that goes with it
The reality is that the industry as a whole is not doing too bad for the year. If retailers can keep the baby boomers and the millennial happy and shopping than they most likely on target for the year. Increased sales are expected, and the two generations of people to make most of it happen; the projection for the retail department is right on target for 2018.
